How long can you actully leave tampax in for?
im on work placement..and dont useally wear them, but
im going to have to as i have to sit on floor with the children
im there at 8am and have my break at 12am < would that be ok
for that amount of time, i also finish at 3 so the rest of the
day wouldnt be a problem....
lol oh mother
never use them myself but i'm sure 4 hours would be ok .,
Thats fine, you can leave them in for a maximum of 8 hours but only if thats neccisary, depending on how heavy your period is, and anyway your allowed to use the bathroom during that time if you need too so if you feel uncomfortable just go and change! :) x
you can leave them in for months and it wont bother you
anything between 4-8 hours any thing more than that isnt recommended
Tampons need to be changed every 4-6 hours, so you should be fine.
Some people say 8 hours because some tampon companies say 8 hours, but they say this to make their products seem more convenient, not because it is safe - the longer you leave a tampon in for the longer you give bacteria to multiply within your vagina which is unhygienic and puts you at greater risk of TSS and vaginal infections. Tampax are one of the higher risk brands of tampons as they are made form rayon and contain chemicals, so be sure you know all the precautions;
- Always use lowest absorbency.
- Change absorbency as flow changes.
- Don’t use tampons during light flow.
- Don’t use tampons overnight.
- Never use tampons when not menstruating.
- Never use more than one tampon at a time.
- Alternate between tampons and pads.
- Wash hands before inserting a tampon.
- Don’t use tampons if you have a vaginal infection.
- Use cotton tampons (most tampons are made from rayon).
- If you use rayon tampons get with glycerol monolaurate fibre finish.
- Never use tampons if you have had TSS in the past.
- Consider safer options like menstrual cups or softcups.
- Learn the risks of tampons and how they effect your vagina.
